Marian is your host for the duration of your stay. Think of Coolbawn as your home from home in the countryside with everything in readiness for your arrival. Charming in every way, Marian will greet you on arrival, mingle with you through ‘Happy Hour Drinks’ and guide you through every stage of the retreat.

After 25 years in the hospitality industry Marian embarked on a 3 month residential  course at Ballymaloe Cookery School in 2010. With the skills and knowledge she gained from this course combined with cookery courses in Bali, Vietnam and Thailand, Marion set up Manna Bia Foods, a wholefoods plant based food business in Tipperary. From Farmers Markets, Event Catering, Pop Ups and Cookery Demos Marion shares her passion for nutritious, healthy foods that are simple, fresh and easy to prepare.

yoga | paulette egan

With over 25 years teaching experience under her belt, Paulette’s passion for all things Yoga is evident in her inclusive classes aimed at all levels of ability. As well as teaching regular classes in the Clare and Limerick areas Paulette created the SportsYoga concept, aimed at elite athletes to tailor their fitness programme around not just the performance element of their sport but also the connection between the mind and wellbeing of the individual. Paulette encourages sports enthusiasts to jump off the treadmill of stress and practice: breath work; warm up; and cool down techniques, with the emphasis on ancient yoga practices. Paulette’s love of all things Yogi brought about the brainchild of the beautifully designed and comfortable Irish yoga wear brand, I-Spy Clothing, which she runs with her daughter and exports globally.

pilates | carmell demello

With a career spanning over 20 years in the Irish, UK and European Fitness Industry, Carmell currently directs a programme of over 80 classes as Group Fitness Co-ordinator at University of Limerick Sports Arena. Whilst Teaching classes including dance, HIIT, Mind Body Programmes, Freestyle Fitness Yoga, Barre, Fitness Pilates, Les MIlls Body Pump Carmell also finds time to participate with the Irish National Team as a Spinning(R) Presenter 

As well as being a published fitness writer, Carmell is a former volunteer with the Irish Coast Guard & Chair Person of the Killaloe Pink Ribbon 10k Walk, Having traveled extensively for her love of fitness, education and motivation Carmell simply loves sharing all this experience and making people feel deservedly good about themselves.  With a passion for running 'joyfully'' without the need for speed she has participated in Spinning(R) Marathons including 24 hours on the beach in Portugal and underground in the Salt Mines in Poland - she likes to find inspiration everywhere.  Feel good movement and music to reach into the heart and soul, are just two of the key driving forces in her classes.

With a B.Sc in Sports and Exercise Science from University of Limerick Emma’s fitness journey has taken her from training Rugby teams to opening her own Boutique Fitness Club, Embody in Castletroy, Limerick. Emma has traveled the world for over 18 years to educate and develop her unique fitness style including Rebounding, Piloxing, Boxing, Pilates, Kickboxing, Functional Movement, Pole Fitness, and her new passion.........Barre!

As a busy working mum, Emma enthuses that Embody is more than a fitness studio, it is a community of support, positivity and strength for EVERYONE. Her own personal journey led her to develope a post natal schedule that has ballooned into a tribe and regularly organises successful charity events to support Mid Western Neo Natal Unit, a cause close to Emma’s heart.

Her motto in life is 'it's your road and yours alone. Others may walk with you, but nobody can walk it for you.'

After graduating with First Class Honours in Sport Exercise and Performance Psychology at the University of Limerick, Andree received the P.J. Smyth Special Recognition Award from the Dept. of Physical Education and Sport Sciences.  Her specialist area of research is promoting well-being using positive psychology methods, including nature-based interventions, and Blue & Green exercise.   Andree holds a BA in Outdoor Education and is a qualified Kayak Instructor and Triathlon Coach.  As well as multiple prestigious academic publications, Andree has a strong sporting background in adventure sports and has raced age-group triathlon for Ireland, both at European and World Championships.  She holds a bronze European Triathlon Age Group Medal and has also been part of a number of high altitude mountaineering expeditions whilst working with a variety of extreme and endurance sports athletes and professional sports people.   Allow Andree's expertise and experience to take you beyond your comfort zone into a world of Blue & Green exercise and outdoor movement.

Prepare to be immersed in nature and water………

Aisling has been working within the beauty/spa industry for the past sixteen years, has a passion for natural products, healthy living and plant based food.

Educated in a broad range of treatments including massage, face and body therapies, beauty treatments and make-up artistry. Aisling is dedicated to deliver the ultimate spa experience to every guest on every level and enjoys creating a warm, relaxing environment to unwind and recharge, she looks forward to assisting you on your journey to improve relaxation and wellbeing.

Aisling, along with her team of therapists, will be available throughout the Retreat for Treatments.

10.30 | Check in

Arrive at your leisure, check in at reception and settle into your ‘home from home’ for the weekend, a warm welcome awaits you from the Wellness Team at Coolbawn Quay and the various Instructors taking part in this exciting event.

The emphasis on this Retreat is to do as little or as much as you feel, not forgetting that this is your time away to induldge in all things ‘Self Care’, so please feel free to dip in and out of the schedule and make some time for yourself with some of the following tips…….

Slip away for a treatment and  submit to the caring hands of our Elemis Therapists

Stroll the shores of our beautiful resort

Read a book in a secluded hammock

Feel the motion of the water in a cosy static rowing boat

Embrace Wild Swimming from the platform followed by an infra red Sauna on the deck

Take a leisurely walk to the Cominchas Woodland and explore the concept of Forest Bathing

Take a nap

Meet the Team and familiarise yourself with the programme of classes on offer, from barre, pilates, yoga, wild swimming, forest bathing, meditation and much more, healthy treats and herbal teas to boost your energy levels for the day ahead.

11.15 I Classes begin…..

13.00 I Wholesome Buffet Lunch

Join us in the Clubhouse for a delicious lunch, we source our vegetables and leaves locally and create mouthwatering, nutritious wholegrain salads, high protein soups served with healthy home made breads. Sip on herbal infused teas from our own Lakeshore Garden and re-hydrate with water naturally filtered from our underground spring deep beneath the village

18.00 I Join us in the Bar, or at the Barre………..

18.30 | Dinner

Enjoy a delicious three course dinner in our Lakeshore Restaurant. Clubhouse Chef Len combines the elements of fresh, seasonal, local produce with the added benefit of nutrient dense plant based foods to ensure a well balanced choice of dishes at every meal.
